Little Goldie Goldenrod

  Carro Frances Warren was an interesting woman and gave us a bit of a run for our money when we researched her. Why? Well, all the entries for Warren led to Carro Morrell Clark, without explanation. Finally, a short magazine article about Clark, who was the founder and manager of C.M. Clark Publishing in Boston and the only woman publisher in Boston between 1900 and 1906, mentioned that she also was a successful children's author under the name Carro Frances Warren. Bingo! Little Goldie Goldenrod was a welcome addition to the Warren collection held by the Maine State Library, as Warren/Clark was born and raised in Unity, ME.
